But as reported on USA Today, Bass Pro made the purchase for Cabela’s for $5.5 Billion.

Privately held Bass Pro Shops will pay $65.50 per share in cash for Cabela’s, representing a premium of 19.2% over Friday’s closing price.

It was also reported from Tommy Millner, Cabela’s CEO, the board unanimously backed the transaction to go through. Saying that only after “a thorough strategic review.”

If you’re wondering what is going to happen to operations in Sidney and Lincoln, Nebraska?

Bass Pro Shops said it plans to maintain Cabela’s operations in Sidney and Lincoln, Neb. “and hopes to continue the very favorable connections to those communities and the Cabela’s team members residing there.”
